Additional instructions for Equation Detective (Level 1, Medium)

Equation Detective – Medium

Combine clues deliberately. Medium difficulty is where two weak clues become one strong deduction.

How to combine:

  • If clue A says “Mia had the juice” and clue B says “the juice was the day before Lucas”, you’ve created a linked chain: Mia → juice → (day before) → Lucas.
  • If clue A defines a price relationship and clue B gives one price, compute the rest immediately and lock them in.
  • Use “not” clues to shrink options until a single option remains.

Tip: write small “chains” like Mia → Monday or Theo → salad → £3 directly beside the grid as you discover them.
