Riddle Solver – Hard

Translate first, solve second. The most common Hard mistake is trying to do arithmetic while the story is still vague.

  • Turn each sentence into an equation (or inequality/constraint if it’s “at least/at most”).
  • Look for the fastest elimination (match coefficients by multiplying an equation if needed).
  • Solve one variable, then back-substitute to find the other.

Reality check: reject solutions that produce negative or impossible values (the story usually implies the meaningful, positive solution).
